Give Thanks Burlap Runner
Hello, this is Farmer Angie! Thanksgiving is just around the corner and my dinning room table is ready. I wanted give you all a sneak peek on what the Thomasson family is up to after October. I’m not actually hosting dinner this year so my table will stay pretty and clean while we go to my brothers for Thanksgiving dinner. There will be a dozen of us driving about 4 hours to be with our family that lives east of the mountains.
I just love the white “ghost pumpkins” from our patch this year. They sure were popular, we sold out right away, unfortunately! We will know for next year to have a lot more.
I wanted a shorter runner for my table that you could read when the chairs were pushed in. I had my mom make it 40″ x 15” and I couldn’t be happier with the size. She sewed and frayed the edges and I painted the lettering.
I printed the kind of font and size I wanted onto printer paper and used that as a stencil. For “give” I used Edwardian script ITC in bold font size 20o and Times New Roman in bold for “thanks” font size 200.
The weave of burlap is so lose I just put the paper under it and traced using a black sharpe.
After the tracing was done I took black acrylic paint and a brush to fill it in. It was super easy, I should make one to give to my sister-in-law for a hostess gift.
This is my first post ever so I’m a little nervous! What do you think, did I do ok? Do you have any easy inexpensive ideas for hostess gifts?
